The force is all around us.

Through the Star Wars movies we are all acquainted with the Force, an all present energy that gives the Jedi knights and Sith lords their power. Most of us, will only see it as an imagination of script writers and fantasy realms, but is there maybe more to it, then meets the eye?

In ancient Egypt the creation myth of On (Heliopolis) describes how the creation mount and on it the god creator Atum come forth from the abyssal water, which is named Nun. Though we can't say for sure how the ancient Egyptians saw this, they do describe it as the source of everything. As such we can state that Nun is a vast ocean of chaotic energy, from which the longing growed to form and manifest itself, which resulted in the rising of of the primordial mount, the Benben, on which the god creator Atum came to be.

If we take this a step further, we can state, that the primordial ocean is the universe, not only what we see and experience, but also all that is unseen but manifest. Science has just begun to dig deeper into this, going past the idea of the big bang, and explore dark matter and energy. So much still needs to be investigated, that we can wonder why it took so long, as in ancient myths and tales the story is already told and unfolded.

Maybe there is much more to the universe then we see, or even dare to admit. What if the universe is one large living being, in which everything that exists if of importance, and that we through that connection can manifest much more then we hold possible. And that all we need to do to accomplish this is believe in our connection with the universe and its infinitive energy.

It reminds of a text in the bible, John 14/ 11-13 "11"Believe Me that I am in the Father and the Father is in Me; otherwise believe because of the works themselves. 12"Truly, truly, I say to you, he who believes in Me, the works that I do, he will do also; and greater works than these he will do; because I go to the Father. 13"Whatever you ask in My name, that will I do, so that the Father may be glorified in the Son." If we consider a deeper meaning to this text, we see a teaching, that those who ask anything in Jesus name, which means to act as he did, will do greater works the he did, for they to will be in the father, as he was. Or to state it differently, he was connected with that infinite energy of the cosmos, as all who are open to it can be.

It doesn't matter if Jesus was or wasn't a historical figure, what is important, is that the writer of this text wishes to pass on a teaching, but for what reason however, he needs to put in a symbolic way, so only the few will understand its depth.

Another text that comes to mind is the 77th verse of the gospel by Thomas. Jesus said, "It is I who am the light (that presides) over all. It is I who am the entirety: it is from me that the entirety has come, and to me that the entirety goes. Split a piece of wood: I am there. Lift a stone, and you will find me there." Jesus factually describes his unity with the all, which is present everywhere and as such is he. A state of being that is also open, for those that dare to cross the abyss and recognize its powers, which are slumbering in us all.

There are many more examples which come to mind, found in the works of Master Eckhart,  John Amos Comenius and many many more....

As such, I dare to state, that the force is all around us, however we name or see it, and that it is there to be used by those who can yield it. We need no elaborate rituals, precious garments or golden chalices, all we need is an open mind and heart, reaching out, sensing the all and uniting with it.
