Power is a very important thing in our society, wealthy and influencel people wield it every day, to control the little world, they or their ancestors have build. Seemingly it is also a major thing in many occult and LHP groups or orders, where one is expected to bow for those who founded or control the group. Most of the time, this is done by people with high sounding titles, which all to much, they gave themselves. That there is a need for hierarchy in an order, I will agree on, but how far this has to go, is an open question, for each of us to answer.
For me personal, the LHP is a more solitary road, where we can meet up with others, but in the end make our own path, even if it's very similar to already known ones. For example, I have been influenced by several sources, Dr. Anton Szandor LaVey, Aleister Crowley, Carl Gustav Jung and others, from what they brought forward, I have taken parts and added to it, or see it in a different way, as such I create my own path.
The major element on this, remains Sutekh, who is also known as Set, Seth, Setesh, and many more names. The more I build a personal relationship with Him, I saw more elements come to be and how to use them in my daily life. Yet, I describe myself as a Dark Spiritual Atheist, but this doesn't hold me back from establishing something very valuable with how I see and experience Sutekh.
From Him, I do receive power, first of all to create my own life and from their out, my path, which brings me deeper to Him and workings through Him. The greatest power that he shows me, is the one to self-realisation/ deification. A path that doesn't need millions or influence to be tread upon, but those give us independence, which is of great worth in our present society.
As such Sutekh is for me, the power that transforms the chaos of daily life to an ordered and controllable situation. Even if I see him as an enormous energetic being, He is very real to me and like in meditation, He takes on a physical appearance, or better said I create it to my expectations and wishes.
This is for me "The Power to be", to be the one, that society doens't wish me to be, as I don't stand nicely in the lines the politicians and religious leaders create, but I stand at the far edge, going my own way through life, as well as I can build it, freeing myself from the hypocrisy from our present day civilisation.
It is this power, that each of us can find and use, for their own benefits and those which still are dear to us. I hope that many more may explore this path, to go their own way, under the guidance of the Dark Lord, however they see or experience Him. For my path goes through and with Sutekh, but for each of us the direction is different, the only thing we know, is where it has begun and we are open for what ever it may bring us, but the greatest gift is personal freedom on our way to self-realisation/ deification.
Sigils, rituals and meditation. It seems that this piece will describe some detailed rite or handling for us to use. Though it always has been my intent to pass on some of my personal views and workings, this will be for a later date.
When we struggle ourselves through the information available on the internet and in books, we seem to drown in it. So many points of view and idea's. Which one is correct and which one is fake?
If we have walked the occult/ spiritual path for some years it quickly becomes easy to recognize valid points and total mumbo jumbo, though we never may forget that this is a personal interpretation. That what goes for us, maybe is a total waste for other people.
Let's give an example, the Enochian keys. I used the ones of Dr. LaVey when I started on the Left Hand Path, but later on came in contact with the ones found on the JoS website, which seemed to have more depth, but in the end didn't touch much ground for me. In the end I turned back to the interpretation of Aleister Crowley, though lightly altered here and there. Do I now say, that the ones done by Crowley are the best ones? No, they just work best for me.
I also use the English version of the keys. There maybe some beauty in the Enochian version, but trying to twist tongue and mouth in all kind of directions, to speak out something, no one factually can understand, remind me of my days as a clergy member and saying mass in Latin. It has a deeper ground, but in the end it's questionable. But again, this is a very personal view.
Once we put our feet on the Left Hand Path, we know there is only one truth, namely our own view of matters and rituals, as this work for us. As such there are many ways to continue, as each of us, will develop their own view of the path. And in diversity there can be unity, but also much debate.
Personally I believe, that we must grow over this. Of Course we have our own opinions and the right to share them, just as another person has the right to accept or decline these. What ever we do and accept as valuable, it is our own personal way of working with the LHP. We can share it and maybe it helps others, but for the same, they just consider it as totally crazy.
When I started on the LHP, I accepted the most basic points, brought forward through people as Dr. Anton LaVey and Aleister Crowley. Later on I learned more from, for example, Carl Gustav Jung and it changed my views and how I worked with them. As in my first days on the path for example, the Black Mass was of great importance to me, it has lost much of it's attraction to me. I still have a kind "Blessing of the Chalice", which I find valuable as it's a way for me, to connect to the forces of the universe, through Sutekh and also has a deep meaning as it is, a connection to the vampiric way of life. Next to that I work with meditation, mudra's and the chakra's. But also sigils still have some value as a kind of power symbols.
My quest on the LHP has brought me to Sutekh, also known as Set, Seth, Setesh and by many other names, and around that my personal view has grown, and maybe some elements of what I do, can be worth something to others, but the main point is, that we create our own walk on the Path, only as such, it truly can become liberating and really bring us towards self realization/ deification.
Evolution or de-evolution? The title supposes that this piece will have something to do with Darwin or the evolution theory, but sometimes looks can deceive. I don't want to enter in the never ending debate, if it's evolution or creation, that brought forth the universe and men as species. I think that most people who think independent of organised structures can make up their own mind about this.
And that is exactly where this piece is going, how far is man evolved. One would think, that with our modern knowledge of science, history and even the occult, people would question all and everything. In first order, that which others expect of us, to believe or except as the universal truth. In second order, the reasons why people demand that we uphold their truths and values.
In ancient time, people where tied to the temples and kings, but this was maybe a good point, as many of them wouldn't have been able to keep order in society or daily life. As time changes and people get to think for themselves, we see the first republics coming forward and one doubt openly the existence of the gods, and as such the priests and temples that represent these.
In time society evolved in a way, that many no longer needed others to think for them, they took the right for themselves and as such opened their minds towards the universe, archetypes, gods.
We would expect that this would rise to a high point in our days, but if we look around, we see a return to conservative religion, where the so called leaders, decide what you need to believe and think. And if we believe, that we are freed of that, we mostly are influenced by information which we see in papers, magazines and television. To often, we accept this all without thinking and just let it go over us.
As such we can question, if we are still evolving, or if a de-evolution has started? In other words, are we getting smarter or more stupid? Looking around in my home town, I must point out the second. Through their laziness people don't question anymore, they just accept what is said by politicians and religious leaders, while the first point of self illumination/ deification is questioning all that is said or teach-ed.
I can only hope that there are still enough people around, who really think for themselves, and dare to go against the current, as such creating their own truth and environment.
For me personally, it is clear, I have found liberation in Sutekh. His voice is to be heard in so many things around us, that it's impossible not to hear him, or we are deaf. If we open ourselves to his calling, we will find things beyond our imagination, a fullness of life and a path to self deification, in and through Sutekh's spirit.
And above that, for each of us, Sutekh creates a personal path. Even if we can share knowledge and experiences, the path is different for each of us, as such it is and remains a solitary path. Only in this way we can truly evolve and grow further in power and wisdom.
To all, who are on the dark pilgrimage to the Abyss I wish an open mind and a vivid contact with however they see their god, being it a divine being, archetype or a representation of the self.
